Sew Social in Paris - What happened (and a huge giveaway!)

12:50 PM

As you might know, a couple of weeks ago I was in Paris with an amazing group of bloggers from all over Europe! It was the funniest weekend ever, full of laughters, long walks and some really crazy shopping.
This was our view from the St Christopher's Inn window (bonjour Paris!):

I  slept in a 6 beds dorm together with Annika, Sophie, An, Victoria and Marte at St Christopher's Inn, a great place to stay near the Gare du Nord station, even if you aren't a teenager anymore!

I met the other bloggers along the Seine near Notre Dame on Friday. It was so strange at the beginning: it was like when you meet some famous people on the street and realize that those people actually exist! But after half an hour I was already feeling so as if I was together with good friends.
Then we headed to La Droguerie, a big haberdashery full with the most beautiful supplies. There I started to take some pictures with my phone. Now that I see these blurry pictures I regret I left my reflex at home, but there I was happy to travel light:

Marta, Laura and Sophie caressing fabrics.

Annika, Sophie and Laura taking a break.

On Friday evening we had a dinner in a nice restaurant and could finally relax and shoot the breeze.

The morning after we all woke up early to prepare ourselves to a long day of sightseeing and fabric shopping.

Our first stop was Atelier Brunette, were we used some vouchers from our sponsor Bernina. We had the chance to see a preview of the newest Atelier Brunette collection, and the owner Annabelle treated us like princesses.

Annabelle took this group shot:

From the left, behind: Marte from Compagnie M. Miren from Solo Sewing, me, Annika from Näh-Connection, Marta from Do Guincho, Maartje from Huisje Boompje Boefjes, Sophie from C'est la vie, Nienke from Pienkel, Victoria from As it Seams, Laura from Craftstorming. Front from the left: Maria from La Inglesita, Nina from Fliegfederfrei, Laura from Behind the Hedgerow, An from Straight Grain, Olu from Needle and Ted.

Then we decided to split into small groups and I headed with some other fabric junkies to Place St. Pierre, the Bermuda Triangle of fabric shopping. Marché Saint-Pierre has five floors of fabrics. I'm still surprised that we all came back safe and sound from there.

I took a small walk to Sacre Coeur with Annika, and enjoyed the (not too bad) weather.

Annika is a very sweet person, a perfect partner-in-crime during fabric shopping and a lovely company during sightseeing.

Too much fabric? Not at all!

On Saturday we had a nice dinner at Les Quilles, sponsored by Bernina. Nice food, nice talks, nice owner. I'm the only one on this picture not looking at the camera. Perfect timing :(

There would be so many things to say about this weekend, I loved every minute of it. For the first time, I could talk about my passion for sewing with someone who knew exactly how I felt! And in Paris I wasn't the only one who knows the patterns names by heart and loves to talk about grading and alterations! All girls were just as lovely as I imagined. I couldn't talk for a long time with everyone, mostly because I'm not the most extroverted person on earth, but despite that I can say I came home with 13 new friends.

And a lot of fabrics!

The fabrics above are the ones kindly provided by our sponsors. From the top: 1. Cousette - 2. Alles für Selbermacher - 3. Nutta - 4 and 5. Mon Depot - 6. Nosh - 7, 9 and 10 Joyfits - 8 La Telaria - 11, 12 and 13 Lillestoff. Many sponsors gave us notions to try, I'll talk about them as soon as I can.

These fabrics here above are my Paris purchases: on the top, dotted lycra bought at Les Coupons de Montmartre (go there if you are in Paris and meet the craziest shop and retailer ever - and make some good deals too), striped jerseys and dotted denim with crowns from Marché Saint Pierre, black viscose from Atelier Brunette's new collection.

Yes, we got spoiled. But there's something for our followers too! We arranged 3 awesome prizes to give away, look at them:
