Sew Social - Paris 2015!

10:14 AM

Some months ago, I met Annika of Näh-Connection in my city in Italy. During a nice dinner out, we realized that we both would have loved to meet other bloggers in person, expecially the ones who inspired us the most, and spend some nice hours together.
It's like when you read a book, and itch to be able to talk to the author, ask him/her questions, or simply have a walk together to see how he/she is in the real life.
So we decided a location (Paris), some possible dates for a weekend, and sent an invitation to a bunch of bloggers from all over Europe (focusing on the ones who sew for children), waiting for their reply. We didn't want to organize a professional event, with courses, scheduled meetings and so on... it had to be just a meeting among friends. We were a bit scared, because we both work, have children, sure not a lot of time to dedicate to something else, but this didn't stopped us. Well, the reaction to our invitation was overwhelming! 12 of the best european sewing bloggers and designers signed in, and they were as excited as we were!
And that's not all: each one of us mobilized to find sponsors and was actively involved in the organization. It was so fun!
So, this weekend, from Friday the 24th to Saturday the 26th, we'll be in Paris for some fabric shopping, but above all, to meet each other and have some good time together.

We will be 14 bloggers from 9 different european countries:
Me,
Sophie from C'est la vie (France),
Nina from Fliegfederfrei (Switzerland),
Maria from La Inglesita (Spain),
Marta from Do Guincho (Portugal),
Marte from Compagnie M. (Belgium),
An from Straight Grain (Belgium),
Nienke from Pienkel (Netherlands),
Maartje from Huisje Boompje Boefjes (Netherlands),
Laura from Craftstorming (UK),
Laura from Behind the Hedgerow (UK),
Victoria from As it Seams (UK),
Olu from Needle and Ted (UK) and
Annika from Näh-Connection (Germany)

If you're curious and want to follow our adventures in Paris check the updates on my Instagram account or search for the hashtag #parissewsocial. More than 30 sponsors agreed to support us and provided us with some beautiful fabrics and notions. We are planning a huge giveaway after the meeting, so stay tuned!
